I Really Need Help With My Dog!!!!!!!!
He is thirteen, just had a birthday. He has arthritis and can hardly walk. He is on gloucasamine, 1500 mg per day.
I try to exercise him every day, but, he falls.
Any suggestions?

take him to the vet, there's a lot more that can be used than just glucosamine in dogs, namely cartrophen

Old dog is old bro. go easy on him - I imagine he just likes to sit with you as much as he does running a bit these days.

VET.
Get him on meds and make sure his weight is down. I'll post more tomorrow about what I use for my dog.

Moderate exercise is one of the best things for arthritis.

Sure - some light running is probably great - but go easy on him. He's 13. Probably not going to get much better.

Yeah, for sure. Nothing high impact. Beaches are great for the joints.

Swimming would be best for exercise and I would imagine a NSAID for pain relief. If it is arthritis I would definately have him on an antiinflamitory. Good luck

Another thing to give would be plenty of fish oil caps.

I think he is to old for running now, give him his walks, and just chill with him, I'm sure you just sitting with him is going to mean a lot him.
My uncles dog is also at this age(maybe a bit older) all he needs is his walk, and his owner spending time with him, he just waits at the door for my uncle to come out and chill with him, I'm assuming your dog might be the same.
I don't mean to be *******, but I'm sure you see his time is coming, prepare yourself bro.

Thats what I said - you should be sitting with your dog these days, not feeding him bull**** and running him around. Sit with him - sit on the porch - sit and watch tv. Do you smoke cigars or pipes? Smoke a pipe with your dog and just chill. Maybe give him some J.Walker Black to help him relax.

I can gaurentee running him around isn't going to do any good, so just like what this guy said, stop that bull****, just give him good food, and chill with him everyday.
