Pumping up...

I'm going to be taking my annual update pics in a week or so and I was wondering how to properly "pump up" before posing? I have a good photographer with a quality camera and want better pictures then the ones posted in my current bodyspace. Regarding pumping up, how much is too much? Can you pump too much blood into the muscle and lose definition? What do you guys do before hitting the stage?

Thanks for your time..

phil

backstage pumping tends to focus on upper body, as legs seem to lose definition and vascularity when worked. most use lighter weight and high reps...just enough to get vascularity but not so much as to have the muscle feel tired

smiling in a relaxed way is the hardest part of posing

For mine, I use a purchased rubber rope with handles. There are various thicknesses which give different resistances

That, together with a post for wrapping around both high and low positions, can work chest, arms, back and shoulders really well.

I find it is useful and really easy to travel with compared to using dumbells

I have yet to see anyone warm up to the point where they lose their chest, arm or back definition. Legs typically are left alone as are abs

The problem most guys have over here is the heat and with too much of a warm-up + the hype and adrenalin - and the lights on a stage - the sweating and the run in colour can be a real pain in the ass.

Experience helps and lets you take the warm-up in stride and not overdue it
