hell; how bad could it be?

if there was a hell, and heaven is sinless, then hell must be sinful. If sin was bad on earth, then why do we do it? if we like to sin on earth, how bad could hell be if hell is full of it?

i havent thought this out too well, i was just pondering...

I asked a religious friend of mine that after about 10,000 years of being burned, wouldn't I start to get use to it?

He said Satan will probably switch it up on me to keep it fresh.

There is no sin in the Kingdom of God. His Kingdom is sanctified from sin. There is no literal place called Hell, e.g., where the Fire chars, skin turning black, lips quivering, etc. These are just symbolic for something we can't understand at this point. Heaven and Hell are spiritual states of being: "Heaven" is being close to God; "Hell" is being far from Him. Surely, being remote from God, in itself, will be worse than any literal Hell-fire in the life to come. Could there be anything more scary, more dreadful, than after we die, God forgetting us in the life to come, just as we ourselves forgot Him in this life? Something to think about...

But there won't be any interactions in the way you think. Also, no one retains being male/female in the next life because it's a biological thing, has no spiritual reality. I have to disagree with u, to me if one believes in heaven then one must believe in the alternate to heaven. If the devil is indeed real then hell was created for him and his angels then was widened for us who sins

If God exists and he damns people to a fiery hell for wanting evidence, then I do not wish to worship him. If he is a fair God, he will know that I truly looked for evidence, but my brain wouldn't allow me to accept what others accept as evidence.

If God exists and hell is absence from God, i.e. non-existence, then that is A-OK. As a materialist, I accept that death is the end of existence, so that is fine with me.

Very faulty reasoning. That's like saying that if one believes in Disneyland one must therefore believe in the alternative to Disneyland. But just because Disneyland exists doesn't mean there has to be an alternative.

In this case, the idea of an eternal "hell" is clearly a fantasy that was made up to scare people into being obedient/controlled. As everyone knows, nothing is forever. Even the christians admit that nothing is eternal except "god." So that would therefore have to include hell, since hell is supposedly not god (which also raises the question of god's alleged omnipresence, which if hell exists in the way the christians claim, would have to be false ;-)).

That alone is nothing compared to what hell will be like.

I have been without God for my entire life, so no changes there

Don't blame God. You've all been warned about what hell is like. It is YOU who will put yourselves into hell. Not God, God will only reveal everything of everything in the light.

Compare it to the laws of the land. There's always a consequence when breaking the laws of the land.

well put. I'm fully ready to accept my punishment if I'm wrong in my beliefs, but I refuse to worship a being, even if infinitely powerful, who would punish someone as such.

It's infinite emotional / physical pain. Hell would probably be your worst nightmare amplified infinite-fold. Hell's not going to be a south park episode, that's for damn sure.
