Lots of pull-ups for width. This is pretty common knowledge.

Make sure to balance your back training to get the thickness too (lots of different kinds of rows)

    Just google it...

Weighted pullups and a type of pulldown have added a lot of width to my lats.

All types of rows and pullups/pulldowns will build the lats wider and better if done right.

If the OP is talking strictly lat width....

Nothing beats a combo of Weighted "Wide" grip pullups and strict "Wide" lat pull downs.

Rows are used more in terms of back thickness.

Of course vertical pulls and rows over lap somewhat for both width and thickness but that's the basics in a nut shell.

The definitely don't work for everyone (like many exercises) but I would consider them the starting point.

Lat width is largely a product of shoulder blade flexibility. One can have big lats and a poor lat spread, or poor lats and a good spread.

Ever tried pullovers? These work well for some people for lat width.
