Due to unavoidable circumstances (having to share bed with sweaty brother that likes to take up the whole bed) I haven't been able to sleep for more than a couple of hours for the past two nights. How do I make up for this? Should I call in sick and sleep in the day today? For how many hours? and should I take Casein before I go to sleep?
Thanks, will rep for answers.

casein is good to take before bed... but don't do a TONNE to help sleeping (it will help a bit though, likely)
i'd suggest melatonin (cheap) and some breathing exercises to really relax yourself... also, if at all possible i would avoid trying to make up sleep during the day, as you'll throw off your body's natural biorhythms, thus making it hard to sleep at night going forward... if this is a short time thing i'd jsut try to suck it up, and get through with it... if it's longer.....move out? lol680/412.5/647.5-1740, raw elite 308 (meet, raw, wraps)

ouch, that's tough man... i guess you'll just have to play it by ear, i'd try to just go to bead early/sleep in if at all possible. If you are super tired, maybe power naps (not exceeding 30 minutes) during the day, more than one if need be... and just make sure you're not tired during your workout (caffeine, ephedrine, etc.)

I was supposed to go today (Tuesday), rest Wednesday, hit PRs on big 3 on Thursday, travel on Friday and lift at the meet on Saturday.
No room for adjustments there.
But I suppose I will have to make some, the question is, can't I sleep in the day today and make up for it?∫ іяс сязш ∫ | RIP Ingenioso :'( | RIP CJ | RIP Aziz.

if you NEED to go to the gym... then go... man-up, you'll be fine, if it's that important of day, don't let the lack of sleep get to you... eat well, eat lots, get hyped up to go to the gym, and sleep like a baby for a looong time tonight

Hey bro here is the deal. You dont want to be trying for PR's a couple days out from the meet. If you need to do some tech work then feel free but dont go heavy. What would happen if you were to get injured or you dont recover from the workout. Also just worry about making sure your guna make weight and try the best to stay hydrated. Lastly, your brother should know how important this is to you and he should be sleeping on the floor so that you can get some sleep. If your not rested your not going to perform to your max.

Hahaha, that's the first thing I thought of too. Sleeping in the same bed as another dude (brother or not) is ghey.
Even if you had to do it to survive by sharing body heat. I'd rather freeze to death than have to live the rest of my life knowing I was cuddled up to another dude.365x5/345/495 at 198

It's quite common in some cultures, we've just grown accustomed to having our privacy so it seems weird. I was visiting a family friend in China with my father one time and our sleeping arrangements were to both sleep in the same double bed - needless to say we went and got a hotel room instead.
