OT anyone travel internationaly with lots of protein?
Well im going to Greece for a month with my gf, thats where her family is, and im bringing a ton of protein to make sure i dont miss my meals. All in all im bringin 70 ostrich sticks, 50 vpx bars,30 packets of casein and 60 packets of whey. im worried customs is going to give me a problem. i think im gonna get a doctor to write me somethings saying i need it medically like for blood sugar purposes or something as i work at a hospital and have lots of doctor friends. Anyone have an experince like this? Also sorry for long post.

As long as there's no fresh food and you keep everything in your checked luggage, there shouldn't be a problem- I travel with my own foodstuffs a fair bit. But it's worth finding out from the authorities what customs allow in- it would suck to have a load of stuff confiscated and destroyed....

Any sort of meat is going to get confiscated by customs.

As long as you don't pack your vanilla whey in small white plastic baggies you should be fine.

The only problem I had was when I stashed Vanilla whey in my colon coming back from Mexico - apparently this is considered "suspicious behavior" - strange because another guy I talked to said that's how he got his stuff into the US all the time

you might have a problem with the ostrich (interesting choice btw!) but the powders you shouldnt have problems with. i've flown quite a few times with supplements (protein powders, pre workout mixes, creatines, etc) and havent had any problems with them packed in a checked bag or a carry-on.
pre-contest i did pack a cooler with quite a bit of meat in it, and it got through security just fine (it was the most important part of my luggage, so i carried it on!) just make sure you dont pack it with ice/cooler packs (they contain liquid when they thaw, security doesnt like liquids)

Well the ostrich sticks look just like a slim jim so hopefully that'll help because they don't llook like a slab of beef. I hope they don't confiscate all my stuff. I'll probaly cry. No joke. A month I'll be gone and it would kill me to lose all my food. Heck I hate the fact that I won't be getting all real meals and have to rely on bars and powder as it is.

It really all comes down to luck. If you get a nice crew, you'll be fine. But if you get stuck with some pricks, say bye bye to your snacks. My friend got detained in BOSTON because security was convinced his creatine was some kind of explosive.
Traveling abroad sucks for diet. I wrestled for three days in Germany and ate the same three things: Labrada MRPs, Almonds, and Chicken Ceaser Salads w/o dressing from McDonalds.

you might want to contact greek customs and see what their ruling is on the items you want to bring aswell.
like if you brought that stuff to australia.. the powders would be confiscated and you would be slapped with a fine.
