Sat/trans fats contribute to high cholesterol more than dietary cholesterol.

Eat whole, fresh foods and ur health should be just fine. it's the manufactured processed crapola that does the damage!

I eat 12+ whole eggs per day and my cholesterol is perfect...maybe a little low even.

Cholesterol is elevated by eating carbs not so much by eating eggs and beef.

Cholesterol is raised by eating trans fats, including margerine.

    I agree with that 100%.

I followed a weston A price type diet for years and honestly i was probably my healthiest then.

I dont think it may be the best for getting ripped and lifting but probably the best for your body.

But, I'm in the school of thought of why waste half the egg by throwing out the yolk? It's the most nutritious part! Good fats, lots of vitamins/minerals...and it tastes good!
very true..... egg whites say mixed in with whole eggs would be best .. maybe 2 whole eggs mixed with 2 egg whites and you probably would not taste a difference... hell with the extra work.. just eat whol eggs!

cobra you seemed to be a little worried about the egg farts.... hhhmmm.. haha do you have some bad gas ???

Wait, carbs effect cholesterol? I thought dietary fats (---glycerides) did? This true?

Arnold's advice was likely based on the old myth that dietary cholesterol directly affects blood cholesterol levels. It doesn't. Eat as many eggs as your daily macros can tolerate. They are nature's perfect food...

My wife and I just started buying organic eggs. They are much more expensive, but the hens are treated and fed more humanely. The yolks are also darker and much tastier than the factory farm eggs, and they are free of antibiotics, hormones, and god knows what else they inject into the birds. Supporting ethical farming is the least we can do for these birds who provide us such a tasty and nutritionally powerful treat :-)

I need the cals, lol. Plus, all the nutrients are in the yolks!

I used to do a raw eggs shake with 3 whole eggs + 1/2c apple sauce. it was delicious... but then I heard that raw whites rob u of biotin. But I guess that is negated if u do the WHOLE egg. Is this correct?

If raw eggs aren't optimal, then why was Arnold such a proponent?
its not unusual for me to eat 6-8 whole eggs at a time. I've had days where I've eaten 2 dozen whole eggs. I will do the raw eggs too sometimes but it's more a convenience thing... apparently the protein isn't as bio available if you have them raw vs. cooked.

I think it's odd that eggs are the one food that is LESS bioavailable when raw. Usually, the opposite is true d/t the live enzymes, among other factors.

I think it depends on the body, how many whole eggs is ok per day. Some get cholesterol problems, others don't. If I do have eggs on a given day, I'll go anywhere between 3-10. Usually 3-4 at once, every 2nd or 3rd day.

I usually have 3-4 in the morning at breakfast. Depends on how big my steak is at breakfast. Then usually 6 raw ones in my protein shakes throughout the day.

    Don't eat eggs. Ever.

    Worst thing for your body.

Your kidney will literally explode under the drastic horribleness of eggs. Your heart will also succumb to all the high cholesterol you're feeding your body through eating the yolks! Recent research has also confirmed that the more eggs you eat, the lower your testosterone levels...and the egg whites we've stuck by for so many years actually contain carcinogenic elements.

If you value your life, STAY AWAY FROM EGGS.

    Hey man,

Well during this bulk for the last couple months I eat 5 every morning. On a cut I eat 2 to 3. Has not had any negative effects on my cholesterol if thats what you are wondering about.
