Should I eat after my protein shake?

Can any tell me what would be a good lunch for someone who is drinking a protein shake after workout and it falls at lunch time. Not really hungry, so should I eat at all?

You need carbs to replenish your glycogen store.
A peanut butter sandwich on white bread is perfect after a workout.
    Along with a whey shake.

Or a small plate of spaghetti.
    Or fish sticks.
    or a fish sandwich.

Something that has protein, healthy fats and carbs.
Right after your workout, its best to eat quick absorbing carbs tho, white bread, sugars, white rice. All your best friends right after a workout.

If your main focus is drop weight, pass on shake and go straight to lunch. Your trying to create a deficit for the day, I see no point in eating more calories.

Thanks for putting the last sentence in bold. I don't think I would have been able to read it if you hadnt done so.

Right after a workout, you need fast protein. Just like you want fast carbs. Whey being the fastest protein to digest obviously being the best choice. And if your worrying about your diet so much that your afraid to drink one protein shake at a time where you may need it the most, something is wrong with your diet.

I do a plate of pasta with my shake usually... nothing gets me going before a workout and keeps me going after a workout than some pasta!

I am a fan of protein shakes directly or during a workout. I have lost over 20 pounds and my lifts haven't dropped a bit. Some have even improved. I would like to think the protein shake is really helping. I always eat some carbs after working out just because it restores my energy!
    And I love it.

If you have enough protein for the day, and why not eat the freaking lunch meal instead downing a protein shake?

We will lose muscle on a cut, best we can do is maintain as much we can through lifting heavy to stimulate the muscle, allowing our body to know we need them to survival on deficit.

Protein throughout the day is all and good. But there are specific times where its most important. Them being: As soon as you wake up, pre workout, post-workout (fast digesting) and before bed (slow digesting).

What's peoples thoughts on mixing the protein shake with milk right before bed. I heard somewhere along the way that milk has slower digested protein that is great for the sleep time fast.
    And I love it.

Milks protein is mostly casein, which is a slow digesting protein, which is good before bed. Milk also has some healthy fats which further slow down your digestive process. Both good things right before bed.
