Question Pulled Lower Back Doing Low Row...

Last night on my 6th rep doing low rows with the close grip i felt a sudden pain take over my lower back/lumbar region. I previously had a very bad strain in my lower back about 3-4 months ago and have been going to the chiropracor to help recover. My question is...is pulling a muscle common during low rows when going heavy, i know i have good form and do not swing to get the weight up or anything, just wanted to know if it is a common minor injury, i can still move just hurts when i go from sitting to standing mostly and takes a little to fully striaghten my back after sitting or a period of time...reps if u can relate/give advice please.

It has happened to me on a couple of occasions when i try to go to heavy and use less than ideal form. Generally takes me 3-5 days to get over it along with some advil.

could be a form issue, or maybe your back muscle just decided to spasm for no reason. The heavier weight you do, the more important the form.

not a minor injury, although it is common. make sure it recovers or u can make a 2 week recovery 2-3 months, read my other thread for details
