so im taking some singing and voice lessons (no homo)...and im surprised at how different tongue positions are when you sing/talk
does your tongue naturally rest on the roof of your mouth or on the bottom of your mouth. Some people actually rest on top...seriously how the fuk is that natural?
also when singing or speaking the /s/ or /z/ sound does the tip of your tongue barely hit the roof of your mouth (alveolar ridge) or the barely touch the bottom front teeth (behind the teeth of course).
didn't put a serious tag cus i like the lulz responses...but reps for answers
I'm interested because it seems both ways are pretty common and both produce the same sound...but i can't make the /s/ sound using the bottom teeth

what about pronouncing /s/..there's two ways
this is the first way using the tip to the hard pallet
(click on fricative on the top left and then /s/ and click play)
and then this way where the tip of the tongue barely touches the bottom from teeth
which one do you guys do...second one seems to make a more pronounced /s/ and /z/ sound

""does your tongue naturally rest on the roof of your mouth or on the bottom of your mouth. Some people actually rest on top...seriously how the fuk is that natural?""
If I consciously think about it, my tongue rests on the roof of my mouth. Like it is sucked up behind my front teeth. Feels normal brah.
""also when singing or speaking the /s/ or /z/ sound does the tip of your tongue barely hit the roof of your mouth (alveolar ridge) or the barely touch the bottom front teeth (behind the teeth of course). ""
Tip of my tongue barely hits roof of mouth when making s or z. Tried making s and z with tongue touching back of bottom front teeth, could still make sound but it felt weird.
