Hi everyone.. I'm new to the forum. Just gonna publish a log here to keep myself motivated and hopefully interact with some of you guys and trade stories + advice.
So right now heres my experience:
Boxing: 15 months.
When I began boxing I trained 6 days a week for 6 months. I've now added a weight training routine and cut down on the boxing.
I'm currently living in the UK but in September I'm moving to NYC to work. Its a pretty big decision for me as i'm leaving family + friends. But one of the advantages is that I will join an MMA gym and switch from boxing to MMA.
Monday - Conditioning
Press ups, Burpees, Squats, Sit-ups, Star jumps, Planks etc etc
Tuesday - Weights
5x5 Squats (95 KG)
5x5 Bench (80 KG)
5x3 Rows (50 KG)
3xF Press-ups (Usually hit 20 each set)
3xF Sit-ups (Usually hit 55-65 each set)
Wednesday - Conditioning
Thursday - Weights
5x5 Overhead Press (50KG)
1x5 Deadlift (100KG)
3xF Pull Ups/Chin Ups
3xF Prone bridge (1min 30s)
Firday - Boxing Sparring
Saturday - Weights
Sunday - Boxing light bagwork
For cardio I cycle everywhere; to / from the gym & boxing, to / from college & work etc etc. So I'm usually cycling about 1h per day.
The main aim of this log is to track my journey out of the heavyweight division. I plan to hit 175lb by the end of this year. It is also to mark my progress as I switch from strictly boxing to MMA.
