    Advice for using creatine

    Just looking for some advice/directions for using creatine for the first time. I've been using protein powder for a few years now and want to try some creatine as well. When and how often should I use it ? How much at a time ? etc...etc.... thanks

    Try putting some dextrose (30g or so) with it in a post w/o shake for the insulin spike. You can get pre-mixed at GNC called Creadrive. It's 50% off this week @ $9.99.

    some will tell you to take it before your workout some will say after and then there are others who will tell you to take it during your work out. read the container and do what the manufactuer suggests. I like taking mine before I train because I drink a protein drink right after I workout. your gonna get many mixed ansewers to this question so just do whatever works best for you. just remember the most important "supplements" that you will see the biggest gains from are consistantcy with your workouts and diet.

    Without trying to sound like a smart @ss, what do the directions on the can say?
    Every formulation may have its own best practice for taking it. My opinion is the manufacturer probably knows its product best.

    Stay away from pills and liquid form creatine. Almost all the research has been conducted on powder monohydrate. The is a great no nonsense pharmaceutical grade creatine called creapure by allmax. It is a german creatine and it is pure form. 5 grams a day (post workout) is all you need. Take it with some grape juice to spike your insulin levels. That inturn lets your body absorb more of the creatine.

    Alternative 2:

    Honestly buy Celltech Hardcore creatine. It has all the ingredients to help your body absorb as much creatine as possible (no guess work).

    Just preload it for 5 days ( 2 scoops in 10 oz of water once in the morning and once at night or IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR WORKOUT.

    After that just use it right in the morning on non workout days and right after your workout on training days.

    That is all i know..but with celltech you will notice a difference in 14 days......

    Unless those pills are Kre-Alkalyn!.... 2 to 4 pills an hour before lifting. And before you guys try and hammer me...Kre-Alkalyn is Creatine Monohydrate. It's just buffered to a PH of 12.
