girl that's suhaila, a very famous belly dancer located out in Cali, i haven't taken worskhops from her personally, but i have from a few of her um disciples i guess you could say, the movement takes ALOT of practice, it helps if you sit down stradle, and put your hands on top of your quads, so you can feel if your using your quards for the movement, the ideal is to move nothing but the glutes and the quadratus lumbordum section. Currently working on getting my glute squeezes to have a seamless 3/4 shimmy, goes up down up, switch sides, up down up, i feel like dancing now.

its just isolating the muscle and flexing it.... I can do it with my stomach too (i could probably do it with just about any muscle), I guess maybe I should look into belly dancing.... I never realized that that was what belly dancing was all about! Oh and it does take lots of concentration and practice, but you can do it.

you ...what you would do , you'd be standing, to execute a powerful 3/4 shimmy, and to make it sharp you squeese, glute, obliques at teh same time..it hits up farther, and is more powerful than if you just jutted your hips out to the side, also this will help in layering movements,
layering = me trying to execute a shimmy, while moving my arms and doing a chest circle all at teh same time, to do this, i have to free up my oblique muscles, and will mainly use the butt checks for the shimmy, ...i dunno if this makes sense.

there is an example..of how you would be using all those lower body muscles..
*word of caution*
