Acid Reflux Sucks!
Finished my chest day with some abs and pushups. After a few seconds of finishing my intense workout, i feel like im choking and can't breathe. It takes a good five minutes before i can actually start breathing normally.
Unfortunatley, to many people experiencing this for the first time, they would think they were dying or having a heart attack. Actually, i lived to talk and share this with you people, since i'm in great health; besides the fact that i suffer from acid reflux, and the sense of breathlessness, throat tightness, and fast heart rate are all symptoms of my acid reflux... This experience was one out of a thousand similar experiences i have gone through since being diagnosed.
I don't feel like explaining much about the medical description and what not because you can google it for yourself, but i can tell you it severly effects the way i can enjoy my life.
Anyone else suffer from acid reflux, and wants to share their experiences?
Cliffs:
-Breathless, choking after working out
-Not first time
-Suffering from acid reflux

Hey Cliff,
I have acid reflux. Just got it. I hate it. I'm cruising the web today looking for solutions and I saw your article. Myself - I'm trying to figure out how to eat big to get big in spite of the reflux thing. (Did I mention that I hate the reflux???)
You know, I can get breathless and have a tight throat too, but I have asthma. Have you been checked for asthma? That might be a good idea. Asthma leave one feeling breathless. And as someone who gets colds pretty frequently I sometimes have what I call a "disgruntled throat." By that I just mean that it gets so sick and tired of being infected that every once in awhile it gets kinda pissed off and it kind of swells-up and doesn't feel good.
Hope my asthma check-up is helpful. If you've figured out how to eat a lot with the reflux, let me know, Okay?
-Michael

I'm in this with you bro..I have complications of breathing and talking and digesting my food without it getting stuck in the middle halfway down my intestines through my meals.I have to eat and drink slow or I will choke on it just like you mention...I've seen alot of doctors and they said I have acid reflux,GERD,ulcer,etc..I really don't know what I have but i do understand your pain..
My lastest check up was about a month ago to see my sister and she does ultrasound work..She scanned me and said I am very gassy and I have alot of gas in my intestines and I haven't ate for 8 hours before got scanned..My next step is to see a gastroentologist and get that tube with a camera stuck down your throat..
anyways, keep your diet strict on the dot where it doesn't trigger your reflux..hope this helps..

I had the same thing for YEARS
Turns out I was allergic to gluten, at the time I was eating 3-4 sandwiches a day + pasta for dinner, I found out when I started cutting because I cut out alot of carbs, was only eating brown rice and a bit of oats for carbs.
Feels good though now, was in constant pain before, it definitly sucks. Forces me to eat alot cleaner anyways though, I basically dont eat ay processed carbs anymore.

Yep.. been dealing with acid reflux for years.. Made bulking a nightmare.
I usually cant sleep at night after a big meal due to shortness of breath..
But i started taking Digestive Enzymes from GNC and they have helped a lot.
