Smile Cottage cheese good or bad?

    Hi ladies!

So i love love love cottage cheese and used to eat it all the time but my fiance's trainer (he used to be a body builder) said he hasn't heard of cottage cheese being good for losing weight! I read on this forum that it's supposed to be a good meal replacement. So which is it? Good or bad source of protein?? I like the low-fat kind!
    Thanks a bunch!

It's one of my staple foods.

It's a slow digesting protein, so I have it right before bed. Serves me as a protein IV drip. It's great after a heavy workout.

I think you have to acquire a taste for it... A few years back, the thought of eating cottage cheese made me sick! My fiance eats it like desert and so i tried it a couple of times and still didn't like it that much. I then tried it with different toppings until i started liking it and now i love it!

I can't eat the stuff without adding some kind of topping, or mixing it with my shakes.

I mix mine with yogurt, splenda, ff whipping cream and or pb. Throw it in a egg white crepe, and it's off to bed.

But after hearing that frozen dessert idea, I definitely will have to give that one a try.

I have cottage cheese every morning with breakfast, because I've been repeatedly told of its benefits. I don't like the taste so I add plain yogurt, berries and/or some banana slices.

I used to grimace at every bite I took of a 2% milkfat... fat free cottage cheese wasnt even swallowable. Even adding things to the 2% didnt help it lol

Im not sure how (determination to have more variety in protein sources, i think! lol) but I can eat fatfree cottage cheese non-stop now. I actually get CRAVINGS for the stuff. Never thought Id see that day lol

I've always loved cottage cheese! For me the problem is not eating too much of it and making sure that I only have it once per day!

I have done some crazy things with Cottage Cheese, and all of it was delicious.

Try this one - this is how I get myself looking forward to eating it and it reminds me of my Grandma's "Crepe Suzette" recipe:

    1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese
    1 - 2 drops (or 1 Tsp) vanilla extract
    Sprinkle of cinnamon
1 packet of Stevia (Herbal Select Brand - it's not bitter!)
mix it up and top with 1/2 cup of strawberries, blackberries, etc.

Simple and yummy! Otherwise check out the Body For Life website and search for cottage cheese pancake recipe!

I used to hate cottage cheese but I love it now! Just from having a bite every now and then... I guess I built up a tolerance! And at first I'd add some cinnamon and sugar, and just slowly decrease it til I didn't need it anymore.

I used to have a packet of Quaker Maple Spice lower sugar oatmeal with some cottage cheese and plain fat free yogurt. Oh man, that was delicious. But now I have a mix of cottage cheese and fat free greek yogurt with a little agave nectar, Bear Naked vanilla almond granola, with raisins and craisins for my breakfast. It's so yummy! I also like it with just some raisins or pineapple on top.

    Cottage Cheese...mmmmm

I used to hate hate hate cottage cheese. But after figuring out that it was super high in protein and could be super low in fat, I decided to give it another try. Lo and behold, I love it... BUT, I have to mix it with savory things: balsamic vinegar (just a dash), onion powder, yeast, garlic powder. SO good! Try it with sunflower seeds and some steamed veggies...omg, makes me hungry!!
