I took my belt down one more hole yesterday!
Three more and I have to buy a new belt!

First of all, lemme say I thought this was a porn thread by the title
Secondly. I'm notching my belt. I have a leather punch so I can do a fairly decent job. So when I'm down to my goal I'm gonna hang the old belt on the wall as a trophy/reminder.

Hey, that's a good idea! I've been wanting to buy a punch anyway, so there's another good reason.

Awesome! So all you did was eat less, no fancy diet or supplements?
Careful when you answer, the bbing . com agents might be watching

Yeah I wanted something that I can point to and say "See, I lost X inches!"
I've already notched it once, so it may be a month or so before I get to joy of doing it again

No fancy diet, no supplements. I'm training twice per day, though. Resistance in the morning and cardio (boxing, martial arts) in the evening six days per week. I'm sure that had something to do with it, but the real key was eating less.
I've lost strength in the process, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for now. Thanks to DBX's advice I'm sure I'll get it back pretty fast when I get back from Israel. I've also lost some muscle mass, but as I've said, I'll sacrifice two pounds of muscle to lose fifteen pounds of fat.

That's great, better to be lighter weight and less fat. Muscle can be added back!

Exactly, and when you're leaner somehow (at least by my perception), you look bigger just because you can actually see the muscle, even if your muscles are smaller. Then you get da muskels back and look all swole.

Thanks! I still have a ways to go before I can see the abominables clearly, but it's getting there.

You know I gotta say I'm a little skeptical about all the "No you have to have x grams of carbs and y grams of fat" science dieting around here. I'm sure that if I was 12% BF and struggling my ass off to get to 8% that stuff would be perfect advice. But I'm with you Marius....us heavy fellas can just eat less, work hard, and lose weight without all the schennanigans.

I'm living proof. I didn't pay particular attention to macros. It was (and still is) simply a matter of eating less. I don't know when I get around 12% we'll see where I am in my head. As of now I don't have any interest in having that paper-thin skin look, so I don't know if I'll even work to get into single digits. I just won't know until I get there...maybe I will reach 12% and want 10% then 8% and staying hungry for more. (No pun intended.)
[EDIT]I even ate hot dogs and pizza, just not much of it in one sitting.[/EDIT]

Haha, yeah I went to Arby's yesterday...but I got a salad instead of fries and the sandwich fit in my calorie count for the day so I'm not concerned.

Arby's...aren't they the ones that have the pictures of giant roast beast sammiches, but when you get it, it's like three shaved slivers of chubbed meat food product?

Great! There's nothing like visible signs of the positive change in your physique.
