Im by no means an expert on this however I'll offer my opinion. While 18% bf sounds high for a WR, if you feel as though its not slowing you down then I don't think feel it matters. I'd just concentrate on your speed and route drills, wsfsb, and eating reasonably clean.

Edit- If however you feel like that extra weight is slowing you down, cut down your calories slowly (nothing drastic), and you'll drop a good amount of bf in the next 8 weeks.

Its hard to say. I think 12-13% is a reasonable goal. However I'd talk to your coaches before setting your mind on a diet that could help you achieve this goal.

If you cut calories too drastically it will take a serious negative effect on your performance.

I'd really concentrate on growing, and not worry too much about bf. You should be eating allot, you burn allot of calories with lifting/running/drills/practice. If you feel like you're getting too chunky then cut back a little on your calories.

I'm not saying you should let yourself go and become a fatass, but as an athlete you also shouldn't be worrying about maintaining a six-pack or anything like that.

BF% does NOT equal strength, speed, or athletic performance.

I meant making it 12-13%. Speaking with the coaches about your plan and inquiring their opinion/advice on the subject, would only show them your dedication and boost your chance of making the team.

Good luck, and keeping working hard.

18% is way too much for a WR. Something tells me you aren't 18% though, playing WR.
