Monday 7.13.09 Workout

Only one workout last week. I am shooting for 3 this week. Flew to CA for a meeting this week, so I shouldnt have trouble getting up to workout.

Monday

Bench
235 x 5
255 x 5
275 x 5
295 x 5
315 x 5

Squat
375 x 5 x 5

Short workout. I had a realtor coming over to the house to appraise it. We are moving to Chicago due to a promotion at work. Half the time I want to stay where I am and the other half wants to go...

I felt good that I got 315 x 5 considering the way I have been working out for the past 6 weeks

I have been so pressed for time that working out has really become a chore. My lifting has been almost non existent for the past 2 months. I am moving to Chicago due to my work so between getting ready to sell and getting ready to buy, it has been a little crazy.

Interesting journal. You haven't stated your goals - but looking at your routine, I'm guessing you're going the power-lifting route..?

Those are very heavy lifts you're doing - reps!

And congratulations on the promotion that's taking you to Chicago.

thanks for stopping by. I really don't have any immediate goals other than just getting to the gym. I have been trying to powerlift for about 2 years but there is not much "power" in my lifts I did a RAW meet last summer and I totaled 1365 @ 220 class. 475/340/545. I missed 360 on bench to an uneven lockout and I tipped forward on a 500lb squat attempt. It was a good learning experience. I hope to finally get settled in a few months. I should be relocated in a few months. So now I am just getting in when i can.

Thanks Again

I threw my back out over the weekend.... sleeping in a tent! I must be getting old. I could barely walk Sunday and I have gotten progressively better but I am still stiff and sore. No squatting this week.

Bench
235 x 5
275 x 5
315 x 3

DB Incline Press
65 x 20
65 x 16

DB Lat Raise
20 x 3 x 12

2 tri exercises - 3 x 12

Nothing great but this is the most work I have done in two months. I think I am going to do a simple 4 day split. bench - tri / deadlift - back - bi / off / shoulders / squat - legs - lower back. I have to start working my core. I think this will help my lower back challenges.

Lifting weights would be a lot easier if they were not so heavy.

Squat

My back was really tight today. The squatting actually loosened me up.

squat
315 x 5
345 x 5
385 x 5

GM
135 x 4 x 5

Romanian Deadlifts
225 x 3 x 8

Nothing too heavy today. Just wanted to stretch out a bit
