I'm a complete newbie about protein shakes and supplements. I brought home a can of SlimFast High Protein shake mix this morning, drank my first protein shake ever, then searched the forums for "SlimFast" and felt like an idiot after reading the reality of it.
It's only a temporary measure anyways while I was waiting for my 100% Optimum Whey to arrive in the mail in a few days. But should I trash the can in the meantime and just wait? The nutrition info, one serving of powder plus 8 fl. oz. of fat free milk, is:
Calories - 200
Fat - 4g
Sugars - 18g? (It says 6g for the powder alone, 18g with milk? Is that even possible?)
Protein - 15g
I'd hate to have wasted the money, but am I putting more junk in my body than beneficial protein?
