I don't think there are any BAD fruits and vegetables, but there are some choices that are better than others.
Veggies... the greener, the better, basic rule of thumb.
So go for Spinach leaves, broccoli, peppers, celery etc.
Tomatoes and carrots are also great.
Fruits.. any pretty much, they are all loaded with vitamins and they're all simple carbs/sugars so it doesn't make much difference.

NOT having fruits and veggies is bad. Quality nutrients in them and should not be left in the dust for that so called 'bodybuilding' diet

As was said before.. They really are not any bad types of veggies or fruits.., but some are better than others. If you know anything but G.I. then your high G.I. fruits would be watermelon, dates, and pineapples. Your higher G.I. vegetables would be white potatoes, corn, carrots ( cooked ), beets, turnips, amd parsnips. G.I. is not super important, but some believe it is so I just thought I would inform you of which vegetables and fruits are which.
Best fruits ( IMO ): Apples, bananas, strawberries, cherries, rasberries, blackberries, and blueberries.
Best vegetables ( IMO ): Go green. Broccoli, green beans, peas, and spinach. Also, cauliflower, squash, onions, and raw carrots.

Carrots yup, corn yup. Both high in unnecessary carbs. carrots have straight up sugar where as maltodextrin (corn carbs) should be limited to bulking only because it really isn't the cleanest fuel source with its high glycemic index.
Fruits should be avoided in general, you don't NEED them. They don't offer anything that vegetables and multi's can't do. Fructose is useless anytime of the day, it even sucks post w/o and there are alot of people who are just plain allergic to it and have never realized it.

ALL Fruits and vegetables are very good for you, and neither should be avoided under normal circumstances. Your post is riddled with bro-tastic bullsh!t.
"Isn't the cleanest fuel source?" That's laughable. Fruits and vegetables are as clean as they come. And for the record, corn is 'medium' in both GI and GL, and carrots are 'low' in both GI and GL. There is absolutely no reason to be scared of sugar, especially that found in fruits and vegetables.Last edited by Opies; 07-04-2009 at 04:58 PM.
