The ISSA is a good mid-level cert. There are several good mid-levels certs out there (ACE is another). As far as better is concerned, Top-level certs such as ACSM or NASM are a bit more respected.
I am certified as an ISSA Fitness Instructor, Pilates Mat Tech I instructor, Form Roller Instructor, and in Group Instruction. I am an experienced Athlete, Weight-lifter, Gymnast, and have several years of hands-on experience in Physical Therapy Modalities. Check me out at www.IronLooks.com

ACE, ACSM, NASM, ACSM - pick one.

Isn't a topic like this sticked up somewhere?
I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying.
I'm not out there sweating for three hours every day just to find out what it feels like to sweat.

Yeah right at the top. As for the original poster's question, ISSA shouldnt give you any trouble at all. It's a pretty good program, but the fact that you take the test at home doesnt force you to memorize or truly understand all of the material. You certainly can if you want to, but to pass the test you pretty much need a general understanding of training and the book.
