is "L-Lateral raise" more safe four shoulder joint and Rc ?

Hi everybody,

Sorry to open a specific topic but i just want you to confirm (or infirm) me the fact that "L-Lateral raise" (http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/exercise3/llaterals.htm) is safest and more comfortable for shoulder joint and RC than "classical" lateral raise ?

Do someone practise them ? Do you feel your joint more, less or same comfortable ? Have you good feeling in targeting the middle delt ?

Thank you again for your help and opinions

P.S : My shoulder is in a "recovery" phase so i am very carefull

I do them the way Jay Cutler does, and it feels much better on my shoulders. Something about the angle of regular laterals really bothers my joints. You can also try lying side laterals. It's a much more strict movement, and you have to use a much lighter weight. I do these a lot too and it really hits the side delts like nothing else.

Any other opinion on "L-lateral raises" ?

All they do is keep the weight further in. They reduce stress on the elbows, not necessarily the shoulder.

That way you can use more weight and I prefer them for that very reason. Not sure if they are 'safer'.
