Out of breath during squats
I squatted for the first time this morning in 3 months and after i was finished after each set I was breathing pretty heavily, heart racing, and for the first minute after it was hard to regain my breath. I just came off a knee injury, but my knee wasnt really bothering me, but i was definately gassed. My cardivascular conditioning is pretty good and i made sure to warm-up doing some jump rope for 10 minutes and stretching before. What could this be?

i run a mile in a half around 10:30 (not super great, but good) and i feel more out of breath after every set of squats, then i do if i ran. i just get my breath back faster after squats. but for about 20-30 seconds its brutal. my friend is the same way.

Yeah thats pretty much the way squats work. I tend to take big deep breaths between sets even if I'm not out of breath yet because I know I will be soon. Even when I'm doing sets of 5 I tend to need to breathe deep for the 5th rep.

That's pretty much how it goes usually. If it is fairly out of the ordinary for you though, my best guess is that your anaerobic conditioning has fallen behind a bit, even if your aerobic system is still strong. Try some high intensity intervals , sprints, or tabatas that ought to help.

I do my squats rest-pause style to near failure. After I'm done with the third mini-set I think I'm going to die. I was near throwing up the whole rest of my workout this morning. It sucked.

I don't move a lot of weight (185x10 x3) but after my sets I am usually panting like a dog, heart feels like it is around 175bpm and I start sweating like I just sprinted up a mountain.
No barfing yet, but yeah... squats hit me pretty hard.
