So, here it is day three and my calves are still screaming from a workout with something I had never heard of - Toe Lunges. You are on your toes the entire time, extend the leg, both feet still on toes, squat, bring the legs together then extend the opposite leg, squat...repeat. When I saw the name "Toe Lunges" I was like, whatever. Threw those into leg/back night and I am hobbling around like Festus from Gunsmoke. They targeted the muscles in a way I hadn't before.
Anyone else have overlooked workouts that do the job?
Last time I did chest, I did all push ups. Incline, decline and flat. Two days later, my chest has never been so sore before.

I had to get up in the morning, at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill and pay mill-owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves, singing Hallelujah!
Don't know how overlooked these are, but they're great for rear delts, providing you do them correctly, and not so heavy that your stronger back muscles do all the work:
I tried sissy squats once and thought my knees were going to come through my skin.

They are also a great rehab and "preventive maintenance" exercise for shoulders. I don't them as much these days, but after both shoulder surgeries....they were a staple.

I did nothing but Rocky Balboa style pullups the other day and i have felt myself become stronger literally overnight.
Watch the beginning training montage of Stallone in Rocky II..Those are what i refer as "Rocky Balboa style pullups".
Walking Lunges are another very effective but often overlooked exercise.Plyo based exercises such as "Weighted vertical" and "Standing Long jumps" as well.

I can't even do a traditional bodyweight squat without falling over! lol No way I am trying pistol squats!
I use weight on reg squats to help push me down and keep me from falling over!

We used to do 'pistol squats', but we just called them 'one legged squats'......... we weren't too creative apparently. They do take some practice to get used to.
