    carb up (sunday)

Well this saturday i would have been on keto for 13 days... so sunday im gonna do a carbup.. but my question is.. im not sure how most people here really carb up.. i heard you get really bloated and can gain alot of the weight back that you have lost. im thinking about only doing one meal. like have general chicken from chinese and eat some banana pudding.. and thats it. or is that taking it overboard for a carbup day?

    Hmmm

Wouldn't call that much of a carb-up, bro. The idea is to keep fat low, lower than you usually would while eating on a keto diet.

As far as carb up weight gain goes, any weight I've gained has been a combination of water and glycogen, and usually within 3-4 days I'm back to where I was before the carb-up, while still maintaining my 1.5-2 LBS Loss for the week.

    My carb up's usually contain

    Oat meal
    Wheat Pancakes
    Bananas
    Natural Maple Syrup
    Kiddy Cereal
    Bagels
    Fat free cream cheese
    Whey Protein
    Skim Milk

Is this the cleanest Carb up possible? I don't think so, however, it's ALOT better than what I started off doing. Pizza + Ice cream After Depletion workout, and the next day Cereal.

Basically keep it clean, keep fats very low, make sure you get in enough carbs within that 24-48 hour period, and you should be fine. My two cents, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come along and answer give you a better answer - Cyn

I think he nailed it on the head. High fat/high carbs doesn't do a body good.

If you want to pick a cheat day, do it but don't consider that a true carb-up.
