And go to a show or two. Sneak back stage during prep for call out if you can. Study the contestants. Do your own score card and compare with outcome. This is school....pay very close attention.

Looking at your stats,at 5'10' 198 you most likely are in fairly good condition and November is a ways out. With this in mind you have time to play around with a couple diet strategies.Maybe try Layne Norton's diet for a few weeks and then a very low carb approach for dieting which is what i use.eg:
Meal 1 5 Omega3 eggs,4 egg whites
Meal 2 50 gm whey isolate, 1 tbsp Natural Peanut Butter,1 tbsp Flax oil
Meal 3 6 oz chicken breast,1/2 cup of Almonds OR cashews OR walnuts
Meal 4 50 gm whey isolate,1 tbsp Natural peanut butter, 1 tbsp Fish oil
Meal 5 6 oz Salmon OR 6 oz Flank steak,Leafy green salad
Meal 6 4 Omega3 eggs plus 4 egg whites OR repeat meal 4

This is close to Dave Palumbo's diet and it works very well for me.

Layne Norton, Chris Aceto, Dave Palumbo are all good sources to LEARN from. I prefer our own BaldiewonKenobis approach to peaking. Hit my best conditions following his advice. We could assess you with some pics- casual shots are plenty at this point, front side and back. Only if you want.
