    Can you take too many Bcaa pills?

    (Optimum BCAA 1000 Caps) It recommends 2 capsules before and after workout. I've been taking them as recommended for the past 4 weeks and today I decided to take 4 before and 4 after and about an hour after my workout I'm feeling light headed. Did I take too many?

    I wouldnt worry. Considering your weight and the fact that you can buy BCAAs in 5grams per serving youll be fine

    You're fine! Actually a lot of strength coaches, Like Charles Poliquin, recommend mega dosing BCAAs with like 20g or something during a workout.

    Why can't people be serious for 5 mins? I've never taken bcaa's through pills and was curious if you could take too many. And I've been taking the same supplements for the past month and haven't experienced this to the extreme that it is until I doubled the dose so I was curious if I took too many. Simple question.

    Supposedly, taking too much of any one amino acid can disrupt protein synthesis by causing an imbalance in the pool of aminos in your system. However, the small amount that you're taking shouldn't cause a problem, and I doubt that dizziness is a side effect of amino pool disruption, anyway.

    I don't think you took too many because BCAA's are basically amino acids which are protein building blocks. You might be getting light headed from something else. Are you eating carbs?

    Good point, I admit I didn't see that point at first. And no I haven't experienced this with protein shakes. I take in a total of 150g's a day through shakes. Not sure how many bcaa's that provides.
