My new 3 day split - Any comments?
For the past few months I have been running a 4 or 5 day split to make sure I could get plenty of cardio in to shead a few pounds for Summer.
I have now successfully gotten down from 13stone 7pounds (my bulking weight after Xmas) to 12stone 7pounds. (Im 5ft7 - 31yr old)
Aim now is to add on some lean mass and knock the cardio on the head while I hit the weights hard and look to gain some quality size & strength.
My NEW 3 day split look like this - I have completed 1 full week so far and am really happy with the lay out ... Each of the workouts has left me feeling pumped and the muscles pushed to near failure leaving me with the post session BUZZ of knowing you have worked hard :-)
3 DAY SPLIT:
(Edit - Ab's worked each session - mixture of crunches / hanging leg raises / planks)
TUESDAY: Chest / Tris & Bi?s
Benchpress
Incline db press
Flat db flyes
Dips
Tricep pressdowns
Overhead DB ext or Skull crushers
Straight bar curl
Chinup negatives
Hammer db curl
Thursday: Legs / Back / Shouders
Leg press
Leg ext
Hammies
Calves
Widegrip pulldowns supersetted with closegrip pulldowns
Seated rows
Shrugs
Military Press
Front db lateral raise supersetted with Side db lateral raise
Saturday: All Round Body blast:
Squats
Deadlifts
Bent Over rows or Cable Rows
Lat Pull downs
DB Press - Incline & Flat
DB Flies ? Incline & Flat
Dips
Overhead DB ext or Skull crushers
Tricep Pushdowns
EZ Bar curls
Preacher Curls or hammer curls
Cable cross over burn out
