There's nothing wrong with giving yourself a break. Sometimes, it's all you need to rest your body, mind and spirit and it will help you come back even stronger.
Plan out a few days, or even a week to 'take off' from working out. In that time, don't feel guilty, don't beat yourself, don't feel like you've got to do 6 hours of cardio when you get back into it to 'make up time'. Just relax and do things you enjoy.
Sometimes the break in the routine is all your mind needs to make you want to get back into it.

Goals are probably one of my biggest motivating factors. I like to set small, and quickly attainable goals for myself. If you have something to work for, other than the obvious goal of working out to be healthy, you are more likely to keep training.

Self-discipline. You make a schedule & you make yourself stick with it.
If I didn't have "swimming" on my to do list today, lord knows I would find some excuse to not do it.

How long has it been since you've taken a week off? It may be your body is telling you it's time.
If it hasn't been that long, then I agree that discipline is what it takes. I never have motivation to do cardio. Yet I am up and at it at 5 am. I just make myself whether I want to or not.

I've felt like this before too...
How about changing up your routine? Maybe you're just a little bored with what you've been doing?

We can easily confuse our mental and physical needs. For instance, when running a couple of miles I may want to stop out of 'boredom' but the truth is it's my body that is tired and not my mind being bored. If I were to walk those miles I wouldn't just want to stop out of boredom because it's very easy to do.
I think the same can be said about training, when we find ourselves resisting, you have to decipher whether your body is just tired or your mind needs to be inspired again.
You say you are in the best shape of your life - maybe you feel you've reached your goal and you aren't challeneged right now.
A break would be good to get inspired again.
