If I am only lifting for about 20-30 minutes in my workout, should I still work out every other day or should I lift everyday since im only working out for 20 minutes instead of an hour or so like some people do.

You should workout for an hour every other day. Or workout for an hour 5-6 days a week. When I say this though it should be varied each day. Don't work out the same thing everyday because you muscles wont be able to heal and then grow. As long as you get your heart rate up for at least an hour a day you should be good. Cardio and others will obviously help.

do either a 4 or 5 day split and divy up your body parts for separate days like so:
monday: chest/tris
tuesdady: back/bis
wednesday: shoulders/neck/traps
thursday: legs
friday: abs/forearms/anything you missed
saturday: rest
sunday: rest
repeat, you don't have to use that, you can make up your own, it's just an example.iRepBack. 1K +
