Sugar FREE Energy Drinks?
Is it ok to drink these on keto?
Specifically, the one I have been drinking is the AMP sugar free from mountain dew (473ml). The ingredients claim 15 calories and 1g of carb. I usually have one before the gym and another one later on to keep my mind focused on work instead of food.
I have been on keto for the last few days. My carb intake is minimal (lot of greens, tea with a bit of milk, eggs/cheese, etc), and I am starting to get into ketosis now.
Thoughts?

Should be fine . . . just keep an eye on the carbs and serving size.
Some of the "low carb" ones are actually 2 servings per can, so it's higher in carbs than you think. They are still pretty low--but that kind of stuff can sneak up on you combined with other stuff. I drank lo-carb Monster when I did keto and was fine.
What . . . you've never heard of a 30-year bulking phase before??

you would probably come out cheaper with drink mixes you can purchase here that gives you at least 30 serviings. They have the same energy boosting ingredients without the carbs. Or get it at the local vitamin store.

I personally drink RockStar Zero Carb. It tastes great. Zero carbs, and its sweetened with sucralose(splenda). Others are sweetened with aspartame and Ive always personally avoided that stuff.

yea, caffeine pills are definitely the way to go! However, I have had Amp a couple times while being in KETO and it has not affected my KETO state at all.

If you read what's actually in all the energy drinks it's loaded with caffeine.. I normally pop two pills and by the time I'm at the gym I'm ready to pump weights. I noticed that while on the keto diet and taking caffeine pills my strength has actually gone up big.

Caffeine is a stimulant(drug) It does not have any calories. It gives you energy by speeding up your heart rate among other things. More blood flow = increased energy.

Caffeine is an amazing drug to use for keto dieting, especially if you're restricting a lot of calories. It works as an appetite suppressant, and can help in the mobilization of your body's ffa's aiding in the loss of bf. It can also help the liver release it's glycogen stores, making it faster/easier to stay in ketosis.
And of course, it's a stimulant, so it can give you a nice jolt of energy at the gym or when you go running...

Yes, i read in the anabolic diet book that caffeine has increased effects for a dieter who is on keto. It mentions that some of the effects can be negated for people who are on diets with carbohydrates, which i think is pretty darn interesting.
