Well, since the other affiliate marketing thread got deleted due to unforeseen circumstances I thought I would create another thread since many seemed interested in the topic. Hopefully we won't have problems with this thread. Anyway, let the affiliate marketing information flow.

No. It's basically advertising somebody elses product/business/whatever and getting profit cuts from the people you refer

google has been acting up on me lately. when i go search something and i click on the results i get re-directed somewhere else, i feel as if this is related to this affiliate marketing thing



all the links get redirected to random sites. its not porn sites but like referall sites.

i've done the Spyware Doctor thing and nothing is showing up

I know exactly what you are talking about, same thing happens to me on my home computer. I believe it is some sort of browser hijack software created by a blackhat affiliate marketer that redirects your search to an AM site. Not sure how to get rid of it, hopefully some can post in here and help us fix this problem.

After I can get my website put together I'm going to try this. I've been thinking about it for almost a year now. I'm just too lazy to push the little snowball work of mine down hill and start rolling.

That's why 95% of people who try to get into AM fail. No offense, but you're the classic case.

They read read read, learn learn learn, but never take action.

You just have to get after it. It is a very profitable business once you know what you're doing. Let me know if you need any help with anything, I think I finally have the basics down. I'm sure others on here can help as well

I was very very very ashamed and dissapointed it was closed. You want to know why because people were arguing and bitching, I hope that **** dosent start in this one again. I honestly want to learn good info and did'nt get to read everything from that thread.

Note: The bitching happened at the end of the thread and its what got it closed, man stop ruining it, I wont give names.

You need to find something you enjoy, other wise you will either not be patient and quit.

I agree, I learned A LOT from the other thread. Hopefully this one doesn't get closed due to flaming and arguing.

Sounds good to me. Keep us updated in here on your progress. I currently have my first website going (link in sig). It's not a niche site, it was more of just a test website to get my feet wet and learn how to operate, design, seo, etc. Once I get my first check from google I plan on buying another site and start my first real AM campaign. Just hoping I can find a good niche that suits me. I have been doing well so far, I have a few good keywords on the front page of google already.

5. Google XML Sitemaps
This plugin will generate a sitemaps.org compatible sitemap of your WordPress blog which is supported by Ask.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO.

6. WordPress Database Backup
On-demand backup of your WordPress database.

Those are the ones I have currently but I am always searching for the latest and greatest so let me know if anyone else has suggestions on good plugins.

We need to discuss how to get traffic somewhere along this thread as well- that is seriously the hardest part. Getting backlinks and trying to beat the competition in your niche is rough.

I personally use SocialMarker.com it is a little faster once you have all your accounts created.

I found a good way to get traffic, not backlinks but to at least get some traffic. Craigslist forums. Backlinks i've been getting slowly from the social bookmarking sites we did, similar blogs and some other random ones.
