I'm interested in trying out DHEA, but I'm afraid of the potential side effects like heart palpitations, increased blood pressure, bitch tits and acne. If I take a low dose of DHEA, 5 mg-10 mg will it be effective for bodybuilding but without the side effects?

Ben,
The question has been asked before, but here is the short form.
Unless your severely deficient, it will have no effect on net test levels.
Natural test production is regulated by your body to a more-or-less, predetermined level.
Unless you monkey with the feedback loop, adding DHEA makes no difference (assuming your healthy and not 90 yo)
However, It will produce more estrogen since there is not regulatory loop in men to regulate estrogen production.
Pour that stuff in and your body will produce more estrogen.
(the complimentary effect occurs in women, so for a gal, it might have some use in increasing test)
Getting "friendly" with your wife regularly will probably have a greater effect.

i started taking it along with 7-keto. i am an older woman tho and was hoping to increase my test levels with dhea, and increase t-3 levels and ketogenics with 7-keto.
A successful woman is one who can build a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at her

I have been cycling dhea for 10 years. If you want to know whether or not supplements affect your well being, experiment and find out. I have never experienced any of your concerns above. All you're going to get from a public board is opinions. Supplements are something you need to try for yourself....

This isn't correct. Your body has a negative feedback loop and a homeostatic ratio of T/E. Since E is converted from T if you mess with the negative feedback you can increase or decrease the level of E. To make it easy, if you increase the amount of testosterone in your body you will increase the amount of Estrogen because there is more substrate which your body will convert to keep the T/E ratio even. If you decrease test levels you will also decrease estro levels because there is less substrate for your body to convert to estrogen.
OP to answer your question, no 10-20 mg's of DHEA will not likely do anything for you...WTF? Training for life and other stuff!

My mom, who's 79 years old, takes 25mg of DHEA and 100mg of 7-keto ed. For her it works really well. If I take it it triggers my gyno, but i feel fantastic, especially with the 7-keto. We are all different individuals, the only way to find out if a supp works for you is to try it out and be observant/listen to your body for any negative/positive changes.
