Anyone eat higher fat in their macros?

Hey,

I have been averaging either p-35/40%, f- 35/30%, c-30% which seems to be helping me lose fat by keeping me full for longer, but I'm wondering if the fats are too high? I haven't been eating this way too long, was eating more carbs and less fat before, and am curious if anyone eats higher fat in their macros. Sometimes I can get as high as 40% fats (with 20% carbs usually).

They usually come from cheese, fish, and whole eggs, sometimes nuts or olive oil.

Not a thing wrong with it, especially if your fats are coming from good sources. I regularly eat 30% of my cals from fat. On days when I eat steak or salmon it's even higher and carbs drop. It's working, you're happy, so don't fret Fat and carbs get a much worse rap than deserved.

I'm currently trying Keto.. on my 3rd week...
I like it! I feel fuller, and me and carbs generally dont get along and it's easier for me to stick with without cheating

are you doing a more healthier kind of keto?

I have read people eating high fat and NOT good fat but bacon, grease etc.
I honestly think all of that bad fat would go right through me, if you know what I mean

I wanted to try keto as I think I would work well, but a more healthier version.

who cares about a 6 pack if you've got clgged arteries

Upping the fats is just fine, just lower your carbs a bit to make up for it!

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Do you get some of the benefits of keto (I guess, being more anabolic, but I don't know too much about keto diets) from having higher protein and higher fats but not dropping carbs totally out of the picture? I get most of my carbs from fruits, vegetables, things like oats, and yogurt... sometimes sorbet or frozen yogurt if it fits into my macros...

I don't think I could ever do Keto completely, I just don't think there'd be enough variety. I'm trying to add fish back into my diet after being a vegetarian for a long long time, and maybe in the future ill add other animal-proteins, but it's probably going to take a while.
