Favorite Death Metal album of all time?
Here are some of my favorites... What's everyone's favorite? If you pick other, please post what your choice is.
Death - Scream Bloody Gore
Bloodbath - Nightmares Made Flesh
Decrepit Birth - Diminishing Between Worlds
Behemoth - Demigod
Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
Suffocation - Pierced from Within
Other...
For me Nightmares and lately Diminishing Between Worlds are certainly up there...
Poll coming...

Probably Entombed's Left Hand Path. From your list, Morbid Angel's Altars of Madness.

List is from what I listen too... Other is a valid option for sure.
Decrepit Birth is really catching my attention lately.

In before In Flames!
...
Probably At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul. It's one of the first melo death albums, though, not pure death. If I had to stick with pure death metal, Scream Bloody Gore (Death) or Morning Star (Entombed) would have my vote.

In no particular order, my top five would probably be....
Entombed - Left Hand Path
Suffocation - Pierced From Within
Cannibal Corpse - Tomb of the Mutilated
Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked
Obituary - Cause of Death

You going to summer slaughter? I went last night, it was pretty effing awesome. Decrepit Birth, and Ensiferum didn't make it to TX though. Origen, Dying Fetus, and Suffocation were all insane. Darkest hour really didn't fit in with the line up, but I still like them alot.
I decided to pick Behemoth on your list, but my favorite DM band would have to be Vehemence, and it's a toss up between there albums really for me.

Really smart move on Decrepit Birth changing their sound to a more progressive level. "...And Time Begins" was a pretty repetitive and forgettable album.

Breeding Death > Nightmares > Resurrection > Unblessing The Purity > Hilary Duff - Metamorphosis > The Fathomless Mastery
edit: fixed for accuracy

In addition to ones I've already mentioned, I think a few other classics deserve mentioning...
Broken Hope - Loathing
Sinister - Cross the Styx, Bastard Saints
Grave - Into the Grave, Hate, Hating Life (death metal love songs FTW)
Deicide - Once Upon the Cross, Legion
Morbid Angel - Covenant, Blessed are the Sick
Gutted - Bleed for Us to Live

Yeah I know its young and there is some serious DM I left out... I've just been blasting it in my car and it really stands up against some great albums, IMO of course.
