Protein brownie problem
Hey guys I just tried making one of those protein brownies with a scoop of All The Whey protein powder, 2 tbsp pb, a half teaspoon baking powder and just enough water to make it mixable. nuked it for 1 minute and exspected a tasty treat but instead it just puffed up into a foamy mixture (weird right wtf?) and made a giant mess in the micro. after cleaning up i was confused as hell and decided to try again. but this time i grabbed my bro's ON Whey but otherwise used the same exact amounts of everything and nuked for the same amount of time. came out fantastic.
So what went wrong? Does AlltheWhey just not microwave well or was it just a freak thing? Anybody else have something like this happen to them?

Try microwaving it for longer? Or use even less water?

its likely the type of blend or brand. All the whey is a fat free isolate right, maybe that is it. I have tried making a brownie with dymatize and it worked, but it came out flavorless. Try adding a little less water, maybe that'll work. Also, I mourn the loss of your protein powder

Hehe thnx man. Nah i use the concentrate (cheaper) and it actually has more fat then ON. 2gr as opposed to 1.5, not much of a difference lol but still. Yea it must be the blend b/c i used the EXACT same amounts of everything and microwaved for the same amount of time and the ATW one turned out horrible and the ON one turned out great.

So it didn't harden up like a brownie? I use ATW for my protein brownies and they always come out great. Try using less water or microwaving it longer at a lower setting. It's definitely not the powder. Also, why do you use baking powder? You just need the whey, PB, and water.

Yea. Aww well guess i just messed up then. I'll try again tomarrow and see what happens. About the baking powder I'm not exactly sure. Maybe thats why the ATW got all foamy on me. I'll leave it out next time. thanks

I've been using ATW Isolate and it comes out perfect every time. I nuke it for 45 sec and i think thats best cause it leaves the center a little moist. Use enough water so that its not too runny, it should be real thick and sticky like. I also mix in some maple syrup with the water. Good luck.

I know what is exactly wrong.
dont do it for so long and LOWER THE DAMN POWER on the microwave.
I have been there and done that.
diff proteins require diff times and power.
one of mine to come out right I gotta nuke it for 1 min
other: 35 seconds on lower lower power.
put it in the microwave for 10 seconds. open, check. if its not good do it again. do this tedious work until you find the right time, than your golden!

For me ON Whey always works, but if it has any casein protein in it, it will not work!
