Hi Ladies,
I'm currently prepping for my first bikini competition (15 weeks out) and was wondering if you could give me some advice on a bikini posing suit (colour, shape, brand etc)
I have originally wanted to go with a turquoise/mint colour but after reading a few articles about how easy it is to stain a lightly coloured suit with the tan I am thinking more green/darker green?
Also been looking into Selina Bikini (UK) as well as Ravish Sands as brands, any suggestions ?
I have about 12-14 lbs to drop (estimate ) and I know you have to pre/order your bikini a good 8 weeks ahead, but as your hip measurements change how do you estimate what size you'll need ? All the websites ask for measurements but I expect these to go down quite a lot (hips, my chest should stay more or less the same ).
Any advice/tips is appreciated

If the place where you get your suit is good, they know that when you order the suit you are not at your final body weight, which is why they ask you when your competition is and how much you weigh now, and they guesstimate what you'll be like by competition day. If they are good, they'll get it right.

I just ordered from Ravish Sands and they did a great job with it. There's a picture of it in my workout log (in my signature...I'm on my phone, otherwise I'd go back and try to find it for you). I placed the order at 11 weeks out and gave them my measurements and weight from then, as well as my predicted contest weight. Received it around 5 weeks out, and it fits pretty nicely (I'm doubting I'll drop significant size from here on out...hoping for another 2-3lbs, but I'll also hopefully be a little fuller and not as depleted muscularly for the show, so I'm guessing it'll even out fit-wise). I'm pretty sure they do one free alteration, but you can always call and ask. Their communication is pretty good.

Les from Vizion is amazing. You have to complete a form with your recent measurements and send 2 recent pics full front/back. With this information, he pretty much knows where you're going to end up on show day. I ordered my suit at 12 weeks out. It was a perfect fit and no alternations were needed.

Thank you everyone for your input , can worry less about sizing now!
How does everyone decide on the colour? God I feel like a bridezilla but a competitor version every little detail is stressful !
It took me a week of looking through all the websites to decide on shoes felt like I was going mad :OInstagram - @jennycfit

Hi I just came across your question I have ordered bikinis online before and just used my current measurements. If you contact them ahead of time and just ask them how they do the measurements, sometimes they will ask you to take photos if you have competed before or to guesstimate how much weight you will lose. I order mine a little big because it's easier to be able to go locally and get it tailored if the sizing is really wrong I ordered mine from you Suuitsyourswimwear.com and I did the photos and now measurements as well as my weight and measurements for shows.. and they got my suit spot on even though I had grown a little muscularity wise. It's been my experience a lot of suit designers are pretty good at sizing if you just communicate with them thoroughly they should be able to get the suit out to you on the mark! I recommend using an LED light over your bikini to see what it will look like on stage. I turn out the lights and put the flashlights on it and it reflects differently. Colors are hard because you look so different tanned, but if you like green go with it.. try it with some AB Crystals
