nashville tn , have beening lifting like an idiot for 3 yrs , and 1 educated yr . i might be a small frame guy but with a big heart and love , dedication for bodybuilding . if any of you happen to be in nashville , we can hook up and work out together for one day , you will see how serious i am and i am stilling trying to educate myself about bodybuilding . i am sure we can learn a thing or two from each other .

Formerly from Newport, dude. Where do you work out over there? When I go visit the gyms suck in Newport, or let's say the one gym sucks. Greeneville is certainly closer than Knoxville.

ForcedOutage ... small world, I'm in Portland too. Where do you lift? I lift at home and don't know of any good gyms closer than Hendersonville or Bowling Green, KY.

I work For Gallatin Steam Plant. We have a gym there. Prior to that I went to World Gym in Hendersonville for a bit and golds in rivergate. I hated driving that far to work out though.

Wish someone had the resource to open a gym here or ever whitehouse.

I work in Gallatin also, but on the other side of town from you. Had a month trial membership at the World Gym in Hendersonville a couple years ago, but didn't end up signing up ... little too far to drive. It seemed pretty hardcore, looked like an excellent gym.

There's a gym in White House, north of town next to the army surplus store on 31W. My wife and I have a couple friends that take martial arts classes and work out there, they told my wife there's a lot of equipment in the back. I don't know how much of it is free weight, but couldn't hurt to check into.

I am rollin into town (Nashville) next week on business. I typically stay at the Sheraton downtown, on Union St. Is there anywhere downtown to work out except the hotel fitness ctr??

PLEASE!!! someone save me!! I need a REAL gym!!!

I'm working on the summer bod...gotta keep up with it. 5'8" , around 170...typically very low bf, except for the fried fish sand that I ate today. And, of course the crap that I'll end up eating down here.

Im out in Raleigh. Just switched to French Riviera. Been at the Y for 2 years. Have you been to the new French out in Cordova?? Working out in Raleigh now and it is pretty rough and equipment pretty worn out.

hey, vols_man... No, I have not been to the new French Riviera in Cordova. It used to be a Six-50 Fitness gym, but they closed it a little while back. I would bet that since it's only been open a few months that all of the equipment is new. I have some friends that go to the French on Poplar @ Highland. If I remember correctly, the French out in Raleigh has been there a long time and it does not surprise me that it's a little rough.

I'm a member at Cordova Athletic Club on Club Parkway off Germantown Road. I like it pretty well and it's close to the house. I go in the mid afternoon before the evvening rush. I used to go to 24 Hour Fitness over on Ridgeway, but it's too inconvenient for me to get there now.

My girlfriend works out there with her family now. She seems to like it very much. Did go with her one day to look at facility and wanted a pass to come back and look at it on a monday night to see the big rush. Worker there such a jerk and seemed as if passes were golden that I just decided I would go elsewhere. Did however like the set up with the free wights upstairs and out of the way. Anyway I am going to go check out the Coredova French this week. Did not realize that it was that new. thanks for the input.

Were you talking to one of the sales guys? One of them is a real tool but there are two more that seem to be pretty nice. I mainly picked it because it was close to home and convenient for me and not too expensive. Previously, I worked out at a private gym in my office complex. It was very cheap but I got tired of being around work people all the time. Plus, they did not have as many free weights as they should have.

Depending on where in town you live/work, you might also consider Wellworx on Shelby Oaks Drive. It's right off Sycamore View (Exit 12 on I-40). That place is huge but I've never been a member. They used to be called Wimbledon SportsPlex, but got bought by Six50 Fitness then became WellWorx after Six50 closed (or went out of business). They have a second one that's brand new downtown on Main Street.

I was born in Cookeville, Cookeville Regional Hospital, I live near Jamestown, if you know where that's at, I come to Cookeville every once in a while when I go with my bro to work or seeing some family. Hell, I am in sales and I do just great without badmouthing everyone. Buddy of mine just started working at the place on Shelby Oaks. Need to get over there and see him. AMaybe get a couple of free passes.

I have not made any firm plans for what I am going to do this year, I'll only have a couple of free days all to myself. The rest of the time I'll be at a conference. Last year, I went to the zoo and did some stuff downtown. I might try and go to one of the beaches this year or may go to Sea World. I have never been to northern California. I'm planning to go sometime, but not sure when. Some friends of mine want to get a few of us together and go to wine country also. Everyone that I know who has been there really had a good time. Palm Springs is probably my favorite place in southern California.... I've been ther 4 or 5 times. You should go if you ever have the opportunity. Palm Springs is a beautiful place.
