Any new shake ideas? +my fav shake!
I've just been looking to do something different the next time I go grocery shopping here in the next few days and have been looking for new ingredients to combine for great tasting protein shakes. The most constant shake I make consists of:
1 cup Fat-Free or 2% Milk(2% is creamier obviously)
1 scoop ON Double Rich Chocalate Whey
1/2 scoop ON Chocolate Creme Casein
1 Whole Banana
Little less than a handful of chopped walnuts
1 spoon MaraNatha Almand Butter
About 2 spoons Nestle Quik No Sugar Added Chocolate powder
I find this shake that I came up with to be absolutely delicious(I do add a bit of ground coffee to the mix when I drink this early in the morning)but just want to add a couple of alternatives to my diet to mix it up from time to time. If you guys or gals have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Ive never been one to actually mix things into shakes, but I have previously mixed canned pumpkin, cinnamon, and vanilla whey in a blender. Comes out pretty good actually. Just try adding your favorite fruits, nut butters, etc, sorry, I usually have my shakes plain or I use the whey for sludge

I am a fan of simple shakes, here are my most common:
Breakfast Shake:
2 scoops Isopure Vanilla Whey
1 cup milk
1 cup cold coffee
Pre WO:
1 scoop Isopure Vanilla Whey
65g Fruit Meusli ( oats with some nuts and dried fruit, it's in the cereal aisle)
2 cups milk
[I blend the Meusli dry first to get it kind of powder like, then add the other stuff, makes a nice thick shake instead of something you have to chew]
PWO:
1 scoop Isopure Vanilla Whey
1 tbsp gatorade powder
1 cup fresh watermelon
1 cup orange juice
1 packet non-dairy creamer
(this shake kicks so much ass- it's like an Orange Julius)
Bedtime Shake:
1-2 scoop ON chocolate Casein
1tbsp peanut butter
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1tbsp sugar-free cocoa powder (the brand I use has Splenda in it so it's more for sweetness than anything)

This is probably my go-to shake. Sometimes I'll add strawberries to it too.
1 scoop ON 100% Whey (Double Rich Chocolate)
1 cup light vanilla soymilk
1 tbsp flaxseed
1/2 banana
YUM!

I most definately have to try out your postworkout shake...sounds excellent. My PWO shake is pretty simple consisting of just 2 scoops ON French Vanilla Whey and a bit over 50 grams of Cherry Kool-Aid in ice cold water. I LOVE this shake PWO but it'll be nice to go a different route a couple days out of the week. Thanks!

The most interesting tasting shake I've had was this when I ran out of oats a while back:
2 scoops ON Rocky Road
10oz sweet baked sweet potato (chilled)
1 1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp cinnamon
It tasted like a sweet potato casserole.

YOu might need to add more creamer depending on the brand and packet size, but it makes a big difference in the, well, creaminess, of any shake, I add creamer to shakes a lot.

1/2 banana
1 scoop of vanilla way
1-2 Tbs da Vinci vanilla syrup
1/2-3/4 cup milk
1/2-3/4 cup water
The whey is optional... You can make a really good shake by substituting the whey for 2 Tbs peanut butter.
Also I know this is not shake related, but you must try this.
Peanut butter and jelly cottage cheese sandwich. Gooooood.
