Bcaa's???

my understanding on these is very mild. anyone care to give me a good explanation? reps will be given?
from my understanding there are 20 of them 12 essential 8 not essential and all i kn ow is they are 'the building blocks to muscles' this... does not really help me understand what they are? do they have nurtritional values? i.e. carbs/protein etc.

they are like protein except your system does not have to digest them prior to the absorbtion.

BCAAs (branched chain amino acids) make up a good part of your skeletal muscles, are quickly absorbed, have a nice role in reducing catabolism and helping protein synthesis overall.

And there are 3 bcaa's - leucine, isoleucine and valine.

I take some extra at the start of my cardio if I do cardio sometimes after my lifting, in addition to my protein shake.
They're found in your regular dietary protein sources, it's just that they're more effective and ok to take in more for that extra boost.

by whom? you? Not if you are in the red, my friend.

Anyway, use the search function because there seems to be a thread on BCAAs every couple days, especially in the supplement section. Don't forget that most high-quality dietary protein is 18-26% BCAA
