Sodium

Any way to counteract high amounts of sodium? Most of the things I have with protein are very high in sodium and preservatives and I do not want to retain weight.

A) Aside from diuretics what can I do
B) What are some effective easily found diuretics (natural, there are no GNC type stores around here) in other words things like caffeine, parsley, etc?

Ahh sodium, my good friend... How I love thee.

I can give up calories. I can give up junk food. But I don't know that I can give up salt.

I look forward to an informed answer to your question.

Well you've always got natural mechanisms working in your system to regulate sodium concentration. If you have a high sodium diet then it leads to water retension which increase blood pressure, etc. This stimulates renin-angiotensin system, aldosterone secretion, etc that all help reduce sodium and water reabsorption and have a diuretic effect. Natural pressure diuresis and naturiesis is all you need
