    long time

i started the gym about a year and a half ago benching about 145 (weighing 150). after a year and half of taking mass gainers, a couple months of creatine, and 25 lbs later i finally hit 225 twice. my biggest help was incline db press and the creatine.

I've been lifting for almost a year and a half now and I just hit 225. It really helped when I did Jon canditos strength training because I was stuck at 185 for the longest.

    3 months

I'm 40 years old. Weigh 205. Height 5'9". Started bench pressing in April of this year 135. I'm up to 215x3rep's. A long time ago I read something on a pyramid system. You can do 6,4,2 or 8,6,4 reps adding 10 lbs to each set. So I started 135x10, 145x8, 155x6. Now I'm doing 195x6, 205x4 and 215x2. I keep it a few weeks and then as I dominate the weight to the point of doing 10, 8, 6 reps, I move up in weight and go back down to a 6,4,2 rep. I'm not a bodybuilder nor trying to be one, just and average Joe trying to look good for the wife. I've felt that it has worked for me and I'm really looking forward to the 2 plates by mid summer. I am doing deadlifts and squats also which I've heard it helps on the bench press.

still not there, unfortunately. I've been weight lifting for about 6 months. I have a big chest so ive been focusing more on my arms

if you wanna stay nimble at 150 keep pushing towards it who cares how much you bench. If you wanna hit 225 fast, eat your ass off, down a bag of weight gainer and you'll be 5-10lbs heavier, but you'll get your 225 in a month or 2.

I have never been able to bench well. I was able to hit 185 lbs a couple years ago and was wayyy pumped up. I am now about 5 weeks into the stronglift 5x5 and it has helped a ton. I have not tried maxing but I am doing 170 lbs 5x5. The squats and deadlifts in the program have helped immensely with other lifts, I have never really done compound exercises (newer to lifting.) My big goal at the time is that 225! I can almost taste it
