The weirdest computer problem EVER!

if anyone can tell me the cause your a genius!

ok so i have a Asus laptop and i works awsome. At my house i use a 2wire wirless internet modem and everything is top notch.

Well one weekend i took it to my uncles, and the computer was acting really funny.
The internet was perfectly fine and the computer wasnt running slow but it was doing weird ****.

Everytime i went to control panel to un install some programs it would freeze up and do nothing.

The computer is completely un responsive to deleting files. I i click delete on say, a picture, it doesnt do anything, if i drag it to the recyclin bin, it does nothing.

Also the laptop wont turn off! I click turn off or restart and it juss sits on the desktop doing nothing. I left it run for a half an hour and it still didnt shuut down!

And with my laptop i have a portable mouse, and when i plug it into the USB it doesnt do anything.

And another strange thing is f i go all the way across my uncles house where it picks up no internet signal what so ever, these problems still occur.

The funny thing is the min i take it back home, EVERYTHING works again, i brought the laptop back to my uncles this weekend and everything is not workin here again...

so whats the deal....how does a house or whatever effect my laptop this way?
it cant be their wireless internet modem (belkin) cause like i said this happens even when it doesnt pickup a signal.....

It probably trying to automatically connect you your uncle's network and it freezing up when it can't.

Are the wireless networks in your house and uncles named the same? Do they both say 'linkys' or what ever default name for the router is?

It still should not be freezing though.

Driver error? Try updating all of your drivers and get the latest service pack with ALL windows updates.

does the comp have one of those hard toggle switches that disables the wireless? try disabling it at your uncles house and see if it suddenly works normal again.

also make sure his wireless isnt password protected or its something weird like he is using wireless N and you have a G card in your comp. although if that was the case you wouldnt detect his network at all.

also do what goon said, make sure everything is updated. take a look on the asus website for any driver updates or possible firmware updates too. post the model number of your laptop if you want one of us to look it up for you.

so i'm sittin in my room last night fappin to some CP and this fbi agent walks in and he goes to arrest me ya know but he freezes up because he notices the pics of are his 4 year old son and so he's just standing there frozen and i was super in to it so i didnt here him come in but all of the sudden i got that feeling of someone standin behind me ya know what i mean so i turn around just to make sure no ones there but there he is, frozen in disbelief, and i blew my load all over him.

needless to say he arrested me soon after but still was covered in puddles of my knuckle children and couldnt really wipe them away until he got me in the car and boyyyy believe you me i put up a fight. well i'm back now because i cut a deal with the prosecutor because he's super into young boys so yeah im back and lemme tell ya

boy. that was a weird computer problem.
