    protein shake vs. chicken n rice after workout

    What do u think is better after a workout protein shake or chicken n rice? Do you think using protein powders is a waste of money vs. food that is high in protein?

    Protein powders is not a waste of money,they are "supplements" to go along with your food,a pre w/o meal like that is good.

    But if I could, then I would

    You wont "save" money by not buying protein and just eating foods. If you're eating chicken and rice after every workout thats going to be a TON of money each month. If you look at ON Whey, I think it's around 73 servings and 43 bucks or so. That's roughly $0.60 a serving I think. Good look trying to find chicken and rice for 60 cents. So you'd actually be saving money using protein

    ^^This, PWO is a great time to pack in some solid calories. Just mess around with the timing and see what works best for your body. I go with a carb/protein shake right after i work out, like as i'm driving home, then get home shower and change and then eat up some food.
