Dieting and wanting to go out for drinks??
Hey everybody,
I have been training 6 days a week for 4 weeks as of today. I have lost 15 pounds so far.
Heres my question. I have a buddy in from out of town, and a bunch of friends are looking to go out to a club tonight and drink. What can I drink that will not COMPLETELY screw up my whole 4 weeks of training. I also plan to get up tomorrow no later then 10am and goto the gym, for 1 hour of cardio and also my shoulders routine. I searched on this topic and didn't really find what i was looking for. Hopefully you all can help. I usually drink Captain Morgan/Coke, but I was reading somewhere that Vodka/Crystal Light is pretty decent.
Any Advice??

A ounce of vodka has roughly 65 cals (give or take)...drink vodka on the rocks, vodka/water, or vodka/soda water...you can have 10 and only do 650 cals (that will not even be noticeable)

diet coke and rum would be good. also vodka, rum, tequila, whiskey shots by themselves are low in cals

My advice for you would be to understand the difference between alcohol calories and food calories.
Scroll down to Alcohol Metabolism.

I went to a club last week, got pretty messed up on Vodka and diet coke. Good luck going to the gym at 10am the next day though.

Vodca is the lowest calorie drink, and crystal light or any diet pop or energy works well with it, if you don't care about getting crap from friends go for it, you won't notice much. Trust me, I do it sometimes, and I get a ton of ****, but I just say **** it, I'm doing this for a reason.
Also, if you haven't ate for a while beforehand or slightly dehydrated, you'll get drunk quite fast.

As long as you dont make a habit of it and everything else is in check dont worry too much about it. 700 cals is running 7 miles to burn it off not to mention the crap food you eat while drinking. Plus if you havent been drinking 3 drinks may be all you need anyway.

Thank you guys for the advice, I dont really want to go crazy drinking. I am really focused on losing the weight and getting drunk as hell isn't really priority. I however wouldn't mind having a few drinks since I haven't in a while. I will definately be taking it easy though.

Quick Update on last night....
So I went out and had about 5 Grey Goose with water. . I put in a packet of Crystal Light and it tasted AWESOME! So although not the best, I still didn't go crazy.. I also ran into Bill Willmore last night... (for those that don't know he is an IFBB PRO) ... He is getting ready for the Tampa Pro and Europa Supershow.. Guy is a stand up guy! I met him once before and he was just as cool then also!

Atta kid! Ya, when my fraternity had century club for Halloween, and everyone had to be a part of it (you and your date, also century club is you do 1 shot of beer every minute for 100 minutes), so I would never drink that much beer, so I figured out the vodka, water, and christal light ratio to 100 shots of beer, got a gallon jug and presto. God, on shot 80 Chrystal light is not good any more!

Dude have a few drinks. One night isn't going to screw up 4 weeks man. People worry about this too much and this is exactly why people think we are extremists. If you are that worried and know about it in advance, then cut out some food or eat smaller amounts in preparation for the night. Try to drink drinks that aren't made with soda or sugary products. Light beers or clear liquors are the way to go.
