    How much whey protein should I take?

    I am trying to loose weight. I currently weigh 277 pounds and I am a 6 ft tall male. I am just unsure of how many grams of whey protein I should consume on a daily basis or if I should use whey protein at all since I am trying to loose weight. I am working out as much as possiable at a gym lifting weights and doing cardio on a tred mill or a bike. I am currently dieting on a low fat, low calorie and low carbs diet. I just am not understanding how I will loose weight when whey protein contains so many calories. Currently i have a protein supplement that for 52 grams is 220 calories.

    i bought the optimum whey protien

    i like it, i only use 1 scoop with 8 ounces of water in a shaker and drink it after my workout..

    well prob was that i was taking some stuff called muscletech mass-tech

    made me get bigger but packed the lbs on too

    worried to throw weight on even at my size it turned chunky around the gut...i could move up to 2 scoops just worried about that factor

    use something diff with less cal's or take less and slowly increase your cal's and eat clean so you mostly gain muscle

    im on the optimum whey protein works well ill try more scoops, i was always told 1 does the trick but im sure 2 at my size your probably right on, might be better

    I use the same protein Optimum Whey and im 288lbs and 6'5"...i take 2 sccops,thats what you need to take for your size like Death Head said above
