My boyfriend texted me that this morning and wants to talk later tonight. What do you think the chances are that this isnt a breakup??
and btw, I spent the night at his house last night. i met his mom and sister for the first time, talked with his dad for a little while, and then me and the bf cuddled while watching some movies, had sex, and fell asleep close to each other holding hands
...but he needs to talk about something serious 12 hours later? I'm so confused and sad and scared
I feel like the phrase "we need to talk" always prior to a breakup, but maybe I'm wrong?

thanks...and i really dont think ive done anything to warrant a breakup. Maybe its something I'm unaware of, though. A part of me thinks he isnt over his ex and maybe is scared since our relationship is moving kind of fast.
lol nope. he had a girlfriend :/
Yeah, I'm thinking its something like that. I hope it isnt a big problem. I feel like if there was a huge problem in our relationship, I would be aware of it... but I can't think of anything.The Pain of Discipline, or The Pain of Regret. Take Your Pick.

I doubt he's breaking up with you and if he was you would have at least an idea of why before hand, but best of luck though. I don't think I've ever said "we need to talk" to a girl so cryptic before but every guy is diffrent I guess.

Your 18, Canadian, and not even funny. Do you think wearing a UFC ski cap makes you bad ass? It doesn't - Just stop posting.
TC, while it sucks, I guess all you can do is wait. I'd be thinking the same thing as you right now. I try to expect the worst, that way anything above it is a pleasant surprise. I am sure its nothing though, maybe he really likes you and wants to tell you so. If it is the dreaded ex, can't blame yourself. It will be HIS loss.
Keep us posted =)Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking;
If you cheat, may it death.
If you steal, may it be a heart.
If you fight, may it be for a friend.
And if if you drink, may it be with me.

Cool as a cucumber. But hey, if you like wearing ski caps indoors and/or offering an overused, unoriginal derogatory statement when she is obviously asking for advice and is worried - more power to you.
I am sure she has never heard that phrase though. Is it patented?Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking;

Sadly, it can mean anything. Your initial reaction is pretty normal: A text message saying, "We need to talk" is pretty damn common for a break-up.
How long have you been dating? Have you guys been fighting of recent? How's your communication?
I must say: It's pretty unfair for him to text you with that. Now the mindfukcs are in your head and he doesn't have to deal with that. It's like someone saying, "I have a secret!" and when you inquire about it, they say, "No! It's a secret!"
Why say it in the first place?
TC: Don't go there expecting the worst. Because even if IT does occur, it's going to hurt like a mofo. This is going to be far easier said than done, but: Accept the things you cannot change. Meaning: Thinking and dwelling on what he's going to say is wasted energy. You have to keep yourself occupied. Keep your mind away from this. If you're sitting here, rotting...it's never going to leave your head and the scenarios are going to get worse and worse and worse.**New Jersey Crew 201**

LoveSpell, you are too sweet haha....I think ive been miscing so long that i dont even notice the sexist comments anymore, though haha. so bollock, im not mad at all. no worries
im gonna go take a shower and wash my hair and do my nails and just clear my head until he calls. I've been completely myself in this relationship and a caring person and if that isnt enough for him, then so be it. I guess its better that it ends sooner rather than later if thats the case.
either way, ill update you guys...i honestly appreciate all of the input, be it positive or negative
p.s. i wrote and recorded him a song that i was gonna give to him on his bday in 2 weeks. if he dumps me, should i just send it anyways to him? i dont want my song to go to waste, and maybe itll make him feel even more guilty. mwahahahaThe Pain of Discipline, or The Pain of Regret. Take Your Pick.

Lmao, text him and be like "i know you want to talk...I have to tell you something too..."
so both of you guys would then worry about something.

No. Do not sent him to him. It wouldn't be a waste. Regardless where you get your creativity, inspiration, etc. music is art. So if you create something that is beautiful and you're proud of it, don't think of it as a waste.
"IF" you're thinking that he's breaking up with you (and I get that vibe) you said it best...so be it. I know what I offer and what I need to work on personally when it comes to a relationship (everyone has their strengths and weaknesses) but hell...I KNOW I am a catch. I know that my strengths greatly outweigh my cons. I know that if a girl decides, "Thanks but no thanks" it's her loss...not mine.
Adapt that attitude, TC. Physically you're a very attractive woman. Who you are as a person, I have no idea...but if you adapt that "I'm a keeper...it's his loss" mentality, you'll be golden.Last edited by CelticBhoy; 06-03-2009 at 07:20 PM.

Could possibly want to take things more slowly since you said its moving fast. Or could just be asking you for a "break".
Definitely don't "expect the worst" like some other posters said, you'll drive yourself crazy worrying about things you have no control over.★★★AJ Lee Crew★★★ - Officer of Punk Destruction
