Great post.
Notice how most of the idiots cutting it down are 'tweens'? They're the same ones in the gym THINKING they are getting massive. Too bad they didn't put so much thought power into their training. lolI don't lift weights, I flex under duress.

Excellent points about training as opposed to mere exercise, John Gargani. It's a good idea to hit that muscle group with lots of reps to really build muscle and strength, resting a few secs. between. What do you recommend with setting real training goals to have for a total workout time? How long, too, should I rest between sets if I focus on one muscle? Thanks

Just to make sure I've got this right, re: if it works, why move on?
Let's say I'm doing three sets of cable crossovers and three sets of standard bench presses. On the bench, I feel it almost 100% in my arms. With the crossovers, I feel a tremendous chest workout. The OP is suggesting I just say "fek off" to the bench press and do six sets of cable crossovers?
Curious if I'm interpreting this right. I thought variety was an important part of exercising.

While I like the idea it seems like I should wait til I'm bulking to really add to AllPros routine. I'm kinda prone to injuries from pushing too far. I think I'll push myself harder, but, I don't see why I should while I'm cutting. I'm just trying to preserve what I've got. Any growth is a bonus.

FTR, I am hitting failure w/ 10 reps on some things. I'm lifting near my max. I just don't see a point in adding sets at this time. It sounds like a good way for me to end up on the DL [yet again] and completely binge on food cuz I'm pissed that I can't train.
I really like the idea of adding extra to things I'm "grooving on" cuz I can definitely relate with the sentiment that somedays certain things are just going better than others. Fir instance, my overhead press seemed notably easier the other day.Last edited by ASTRONOMICAL; 01-21-2013 at 06:04 PM.
