The great grandiose of Golden Gain
On the outside the profile looks amazing for a post workout, or even an anytime product. The protein and carbs are good sources as well as some healthy fats, growth factors, and fruits/veggies.
The first thing you notice when you open your tub is this pretty awesome apple smell, it can fill a room pretty quick. Then next thing I noticed was the scooper had a thoughtfully long handle
Taste/Mixing
When you get into the bottle it is a good idea to shake it up a few times to get the ingredients and flavoring mixed around properly, mixing is not an issue at all really. Might get a few little tangy clumps that float up. After I had done that I found the taste that reminded me of granny smith apples with a bit of lemon on the them. The carbohydrates were pretty close to a pie crust as well. After a few days I found myself enjoying the taste over all. Today for example I got back from a rather long run and had the Golden Gains mixed and waiting with a few ice cubes in it. Pretty awesome after a hot run.
Stomach feel
Believe it or not this stuff sits lighter than my normal just when shake which is pretty strange considering the carbohydrate amount.
Also comparing to my ground oats and whey I make here this stuff is again pretty light. The carbohydrates are ground well and dont leave you feeling bloated.
Over all it is definitely worth trying. The ingredients and convenience are hard to beat.
Oh, and a yellow shake is sweet, I was tired of brown

I've yet to see a better ingredient profile. It's a bit expensive, but worth the extra $.

Bear in mind, I'm comparing to Golden Finish, which had 5 more servings for the same price and was pretty much the only other PWO shake that I've ever used. I'll be on my 3rd tub of GGs pretty soon...it's real good stuff.

when it hits bb.com it will be about 3-4 dollars cheaper than golden finish, so its only slightly more expensive per serving, but you get so much more from each serving

I had just completed my order for the CL advanced stack (which includes Golden Finish) since I didn't see Golden Gains listed on BB.com, when I received a link to GG on the Controlled Labs site where it's being sold (at a decent price might I add). How much of a difference in potential results will there be regarding the profiles of both? I'm kinda bummed that I was so hasty in making my purchase without searching further for GG (I was told it was really expensive on CL's site).

Take a look at difference in ingredients. Ggs includes the fruit and veggies, healthy fats, oat flour, etc. They are really 2 totally different products. Ggs on paper in clearly superior. What kind of longterm differences you personally will see from the two I don't know

Very good point. I might just buy it separately and stack it accordingly.

this stuff is amazing. i broke down and bought some at GNC... I'll admit though, its pretty damn expensive for a gainer with that few servings...
oh well. one scoop GG one scoop vanilla whey and one scoop WMS for longer lasting apple pie lol

GNC does not sell CL products where I live in Illinois. I asked and they never heard of it. I like GG also (ordered a tub with 50% off coupon), however it is too expensive. I will probably go back to shaking my own post drinks.
