Conjugate Method
1. What are your personal opinions on how many weeks to run the same max effort exercise? (Some of the stickies recommend 1 week, others 2, and Louie suggests no more than 3 weeks due to ill effects of working at 90%+ on the same exercise for more than 3 weeks.)
2. What would be a good series of max effort exercises to cycle through every 2 or 3 weeks? (For example on bench day, it doesn't seem logical to run 3 weeks of regular flat bench subsequently followed by 3 weeks of close grip flat bench.)
3. I've been experimenting with chains for several weeks now before I decide to do a formal Westside routine. Is it normal to feel a deep bone soreness, like doms for the bones?

1. Try to switch it up every week. Using the same exercise will only work until you stop making progress, and if you've been accustomed to the exercise before, you're better off switching every week.
2.
Bench:
Flat bench
Floor press
Board work (if you're shirted)
Close grip
Overhead press
etc.
3. Will let someone else answer, but I don't see why it would cause any different type of soreness

No, chains should not cause an ache in the bones. They do not in mine.
